Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design and maintain data pipelines across batch, streaming, and event-driven workloads. You’ll work with Snowflake, dbt and Azure tools to deliver scalable data products.

You will mentor a data engineer, influence governance, and collaborate across teams to optimize data movement from on-prem to cloud while supporting AI-ready data architectures.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience.
• Production-grade data pipelines experience.
• Advanced Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing.
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud).
• Experience with semantic layers and data for AI/LLM or natural-language search preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven data from on-premises and cloud sources.
• Core developer for the Snowflake data platform; supports performance, data modeling, and storage structures.
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt AI features.
• Maintains semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 NL interfaces.
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD best practices for decentralized teams.
• Provides direct management and mentorship to one data engineer, with potential team growth.
• Drives adoption of dbt and assesses AWS/Azure data tools to optimize data flow.
