Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across on‑prem and cloud sources, with a focus on performance and reliability.

You'll lead data engineering efforts, mentor a junior engineer, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enable AI, NLP, and analytics capabilities using Snowflake, dbt, Python, and Azure tools.

This role emphasizes governance, CI/CD discipline, and secure data sharing to support decentralized teams.

Qualifications

• Five (5)+ years of dedicated data engineering experience
• Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and data sharing
• Experience moving data across hybrid environments (on-prem to cloud) using batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns
• Experience building or maintaining semantic layers for AI, NLP, or search capabilities

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines for batch, real-time streaming, and event-driven movement
• Supports Snowflake platform performance, data modeling, and storage structures
• Architects and builds transformation pipelines delivering high-quality data inputs to Snowflake and dbt features
• Designs semantic layers and metadata models to support Self-Service 2.0 interfaces
• Establishes reference architectures, reusable templates, and CI/CD practices for decentralized teams
• Provides mentorship to a data engineer and guides analysts in engineering practices
