Job summary

SHI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and develop data engineering solutions, ETL workflows, and data warehouses. You will partner with customers and internal teams to understand needs and guide data integration, centralization, and maintenance while building a new data engineering practice and leading technically within the Product organization.

You will drive data strategy, set standards for data models and warehouses, and mentor teammates to ensure high-quality outcomes and robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• 10+ years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms.
• Experience building highly available ETL systems that support critical operations.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting.
• Excellent spoken and written communication, with strong listening skills.
• Ability to present ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to shift priorities and manage timelines through analytical thinking.
• Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong time-management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Drive data strategy with designs for data models and warehouses.
• Coach team members through code and design reviews to ensure standards.
• Ship high-quality solutions and maintain technical excellence.
• Collaborate with development teams, stakeholders, and customers for smooth data systems.
• Extend data engineering environments focusing on developer experience and testing efficiency.
• Recommend improvements for ETL processes and data architectures.
• Lead creation and maintenance of technical docs and diagrams for teams.
• Review data architecture best practices with team members.
