Job summary

SHI One, part of SHI International’s Advanced Solutions Group, seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data engineering solutions and ETL workflows for internal users, customers, and partners.

You will analyze data sources, outline designs to centralize and maintain data, and help establish a new data engineering practice as a technical leader within the Product organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 10 years' experience developing data applications, relational databases, and ETL platforms.
• Previous Experience building highly available and testable ETL systems that support critical business operations.
• Expert knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
• Expert knowledge of SQL scripting.
• Demonstrates excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills.
• Ability to present ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong ability to work independently or in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Strong problem prevention, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

Responsibilities

• Drive the organizational data strategy, including data model designs and data warehouse management.
• Collaborate with teams through code/design reviews to ensure proper integration.
• Maintain high-quality solutions and strong technical standards.
• Coordinate with developers, stakeholders, and customers for smooth data systems.
• Support a data engineering environment that emphasizes developer experience and testing.
• Recommend continuous improvement of data and ETL processes.
• Contribute to end-to-end data architecture from technology selection to testing.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Review data architecture best practices with the team.
