Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Sr. Project Estimator to develop construction cost estimates from conceptual design through final documents.

This role supports the project management delivery team with hyperscale data center experience and a focus on cost efficiency. You will prepare detailed BOQs, perform quantity take-offs with OST, benchmark against market data, and collaborate with clients and engineering teams to drive value and control budgets across complex data center

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) in a technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of related estimating experience.
• RICS or CIOB accreditation preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information.
• Knowledge of financial terms and principles; ability to perform basic financial analysis.
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings; knowledge of leases, contracts, and construction practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; MS Project experience; OST or similar estimation software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed construction cost estimates in a BOQ or similar format, from high-level conceptual design through final construction document completion; support the Cost Manager in the development of an overall Project Cost Plan.
• Research regional pricing of material and labor using published documents and market data; produce detailed quantity take-offs using OST; maintain cost benchmarking information.
• Interfaces directly with Clients or cost/project management team to define cost requirements and goals; set up estimate work breakdown structure.
• Understand best practices in construction pricing and delivery methods; participate in design reviews and lead value engineering reviews to achieve budgetary goals.
• Prepare detailed bid analysis and review sessions with project teams and senior management to validate a quantity record booklet; perform peer review of estimates.
• Support the Project/Cost Manager when reviewing and approving large change orders and invoices submitted for review/approval.
• Work with the Project Manager to produce monthly project reports on estimating activities; implement cost documentation governance; ensure data integrity and timely reporting.
