Tokio Marine HCC is seeking a Senior Construction Underwriter to evaluate risk, set pricing, and build broker relationships in a remote-capable role. The position emphasizes organization, problem solving, and growth within a world-leading specialty insurer.

The role requires 5+ years of middle-market E&S underwriting, a 4-year degree, and professional designations toward CPCU/AU/CIC/RPLU. TMHCC offers a strong learning culture and competitive pay and benefits within a national remote

Qualifications

• 4 Year Bachelors Degree / or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• 5+ years of relevant and progressive middle market contractors E&S professional experience.
• Studies toward attaining professional underwriting designations such as RPLU, CPCU, AU, CIC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess risk, determine acceptability, and pricing.
• Respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframes, providing underwriting guidance.
• Maintain documentation including bound files and underwriting worksheets per guidelines.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and company policies.
• Approve/deny within authority or escalate to higher authority when needed.
• Cultivate relationships with internal/external contacts to facilitate underwriting and business development.
• Support colleagues with underwriting procedures and guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
