Candidates should have 5+ years in middle market contractors E&S underwriting, a bachelor’s degree, and pursue professional designations such as RPLU or CPCU. Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and industry trends is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• 5+ years of middle-market contractors E&S underwriting experience.
• Pursuit of professional designations (RPLU/CPCU/AU/CIC) encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess risk and determine pricing.
• Respond to broker inquiries within designated timeframes and provide underwriting support.
• Maintain documentation for bound files and worksheets per guidelines.
• Adhere to underwriting authority, guidelines, and policies.
• Approve/deny within authority or escalate accordingly.
• Cultivate relationships with internal/external contacts to support underwriting and growth.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
