Job summary

First American’s Agency Division is seeking a seasoned Title Examiner to support policy-issuing agents. You will examine titles for commercial/industrial properties, analyze records, and produce title products under established guidelines.

The role requires 6+ years of experience with Michigan title examinations and a sharp eye for detail. Remote work is available, with an hourly pay range of $30.91–$41.20 based on experience and location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ years commercial title examination experience.
• Michigan commercial title examination experience.
• Strong detail / quality orientation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service orientation and good communication.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Examines chain of title primarily for commercial/industrial properties but may expand into commercial and/or industrial
• Performs title examination of complex title orders requiring a high level of title expertise
• Abstracts and analyzes records, such as leases, subleases, acreage, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plot and map books.
• Writes title products based on the interpretation and application of procedural guidelines
• Provides underwriting interpretation within established guidelines
• May have customer contact
• Other duties as assigned
