Job summary

First American’s Agency Division is seeking a Title Examiner to join a team that supports policy-issuing agents with underwriting guidance and resources. You will examine titles to determine ownership, review recorded documents, and prepare initial title commitments for a range of property types.

This remote role offers an hourly pay range of $26.88–$35.82, with opportunities to leverage a state license if required and grow expertise in real estate law.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years directly related experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with standard MS operating systems and applications.
• Knowledge of legal terms is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Performs title examination and analyzes chain of title for commercial/residential orders.
• Abstracts and analyzes records such as leases, liens, judgments, and easements.
• Resolves missing or contradictory information in title documentation.
• Prepares initial title commitment documentation based on standard guidelines.
• Reviews reports for accuracy and may provide underwriting interpretation when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
