Job summary

First American seeks a Senior Commercial Title Examiner to join our team, coordinating resolution and completion of the title process for commercial properties. You will search public records, examine titles, and create or revise title commitments as needed, with remote work flexibility.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of commercial title examination experience, MI expertise, strong communication, and a high school diploma. Pay range is $30.91–$41.20 hourly, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years commercial title examination experience, especially in Michigan.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with timely follow-up.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Natural curiosity and history/background research of transactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform title examinations and analyze the chain of title for commercial matters.
• Analyze records (mortgages, liens, judgments, easements) to verify ownership and descriptions.
• Resolve missing, incomplete, or contradictory information in title docs.
• Review title commitments for accuracy and revise as needed.
• May provide underwriting interpretation within guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
