Job summary

SouthState Bank seeks a SAM Commercial Portfolio Manager to support the Special Assets commercial loan portfolio, delivering underwriting quality and portfolio management to reduce losses. You will work with CROs and TLs to ensure compliant structuring, documentation, and risk assessment.

Responsibilities include analyzing credit worthiness, compiling loan packages, guiding requests through approvals, and maintaining relationships with internal partners while ensuring adherence to laws and bank

Qualifications

Education: Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; graduation from a recognized banking school asset or equivalent experience.
Experience: 5+ years in credit analysis, commercial banking, and portfolio management/underwriting.
Certifications/Knowledge: Knowledge of lending regulations and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Analyzes financial information to assess credit worthiness for renewals, modifications, and forbearance.
Compiles commercial loan packages with background, borrower analysis, risk grading, and recommendations.
Guides loan requests through Credit Approval Process and ensures policy compliance.
Monitors portfolios and performs covenant testing and servicing reviews.
Maintains documentation and coordinates with CRO/TL and operations.
