Job summary

Syms Strategic Group in the United States seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for Production Support to ensure reliable cloud-based production systems for VA workloads. This is a 100% remote position supporting the Veterans Affairs environment.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in systems engineering, AWS/Azure, Linux/Windows, scripting, CI/CD, IaC, and security/compliance. On-call support and cross-functional teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in systems engineering, production environments preferred.
• Strong AWS/Azure experience, cloud-native tech, and IaC.
• Proficient in Linux/Windows, scripting, and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and configuration management tools.
• Security-conscious with audits and compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for complex cloud systems.
• Respond to outages, document problems, and develop workarounds.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain system assets and perform routine maintenance/installation.
• Implement continuous improvement for IT systems and procedures.
