Job summary

Syms Strategic Group seeks a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to deliver high-level operational support for complex cloud systems and large-scale production environments remotely for the Veterans Affairs department.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in systems engineering, strong cloud, scripting, and IaC skills, plus experience with monitoring, CI/CD, and security best practices. US citizenship and a Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Requires 8+ years in systems engineering or related field, production environments.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms and large-scale production systems.
• Strong Linux/Unix and Windows administration skills.
• Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack).
• Knowledge of IaC tools (CloudFormation).
• Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Ability to work cross-functionally and on-call for production support.
