Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead requirements capture for software projects and coordinate with IT and business stakeholders. The role is remote, with priority on federal VA deployments and SAFe/Agile practices.

A strong background in software development, advanced analytical skills, and experience with JIRA are essential. Minimum 10 years of professional experience and a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field are preferred.

Qualifications

Strong background in software development and SAFe/Agile methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication with non-technical stakeholders.
Detail oriented with strong problem solving and customer service mindset.
Experience performing independent research to resolve complex questions.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Analytical thinker able to synthesize data from multiple sources.
Experience using JIRA for requirements, testing and defect management.
Experience in large, Agile software development or data integration projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
Document requirements in an ALM tool collaborating with IT and leadership.
Manage requirements in an ALM tool and perform agile requirement management.
Elaborate user needs to determine functional and technical requirements.
Conduct user interviews and develop business process models and specifications.
Gather and document business, functional, technical requirements across stakeholders.
Refine backlogs, decompose stories, and define acceptance criteria.
Use JIRA for requirements, testing, and defect management.
