Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead the capture of business requirements for software development while coordinating with IT, business users, and leadership. This remote role supports VA-related projects and uses SAFe practices to maintain alignment and traceability across the product lifecycle.

You will document requirements in ALM tools, manage the backlog, and elicit user needs through interviews and modeling.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software development and SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Attention to detail, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience conducting independent research to support complex questions.
• Advanced experience with MS Office, including Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills integrating information from multiple sources.
• Expertise with JIRA tools and large Agile software projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the capture of business requirements for software development teams.
• Collaborate with business users, IT, and leadership to document requirements in an ALM tool.
• Manage requirements in an ALM tool.
• Perform Agile requirement management for a product team.
• Analyze user needs to determine functional, cross-functional, and technical requirements.
• Conduct user interviews, lead sessions, and develop process models and specs.
• Gather and document business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Develop backlog items, acceptance criteria, and refine the backlog with SRs and epics.
