YA Group is seeking a Senior Biomechanist to lead forensic biomechanical analyses for motor-vehicle and premises liability cases. The role involves reconstructing accidents, performing computer simulations, and presenting findings in depositions and trials.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering degree, 4+ years of biomechanics experience, and familiarity with legal proceedings. Remote work is offered in the United States.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in biomechanics, accident reconstruction, and premises liability work.
• Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• Familiarity with deposition/testimony in legal proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and measure vehicles.
• Provide expert testimony at trials and depositions.
• Use computer models to reconstruct accidents and measure loads.
• Analyze crash sequences and identify contributing factors.
• Review documents (police reports, medical records, depositions, etc.).
• Perform simulations of collisions using PC-Crash.
• Evaluate effects of impact forces on occupants.
• Determine injury mechanisms in vehicular and premises liability cases.
• Conduct accident reconstructions (single/multi-vehicle).
• Compute speeds, collision forces, and trajectories.
• Reference literature to advance reconstruction techniques.
• Provide written conclusions to support facts at issue.
• Contribute to marketing YA Engineering Services.
