Job summary

YA Group is seeking a Senior Biomechanist to lead forensic biomechanics, accident reconstruction, and litigation support. The role emphasizes independent analysis, courtroom testimony, and collaboration with engineering staff.

This fully remote position welcomes candidates nationwide, with needs for CAD fluency, simulations, and familiarity with automotive systems. Strong communication and marketing skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of biomechanics and accident reconstruction experience
• Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
• Deposition and courtroom testimony experience a plus
• Experience with CAD related to accident reconstruction
• PE license, PhD, SAE certification or ACTAR certification
• Familiarity with automotive engineering and automotive control systems
• Understanding of billable hours or project-based work
• Experience collaborating with forensic animators to develop visual exhibits for deposition and trial support
• Exposure to performing and evaluating computer simulations
• Based in (or planning to relocate to) the job location
• Team‑oriented with a strong passion for learning

Responsibilities

• Inspect and measure vehicles.
• Provide expert testimony at trials, depositions, or other legal proceedings and communicate findings clearly.
• Use computer models to reconstruct accidents and measure load and injury levels.
• Conduct detailed inspections of vehicles and analyze crash sequences to identify contributing factors.
• Review documents (police reports, medical records, depositions, expert reports, etc.).
• Perform simulations of collisions using PC-Crash or similar software.
• Evaluate injury mechanisms and occupant loading in crashes and premises liability.
• Perform accident reconstructions of single/multi-vehicle events including rollovers.
• Compute impact speeds, forces, and trajectories; compare with crash-test data.
• Contribute to marketing YA Engineering Services to clients and forensic community
