Independence Pet Group seeks an experienced Analytics Engineer to own analytics engineering, building scalable pipelines with dbt, SQL, Python, and Databricks. You will bridge Data Engineering and Analytics, shaping architecture and governance across data layers to deliver trusted metrics and data products.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in data analytics, strong SQL/dbt skills, and hands-on Databricks experience, plus the ability to mentor teammates and communicate with senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data engineering, analytics, information systems, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of relevant data and analytics experience, including ownership of production analytics data models and standards.
• Advanced SQL skills with complex transformations.
• Deep dbt experience with scalable model architecture, testing, incremental models, documentation, and production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics engineering work, including roadmap, priorities, standards, and operating practices.
• Design and evolve analytics architecture across bronze, silver, and gold data layers.
• Build and maintain dbt models to create analytics-ready datasets.
• Write optimized SQL and use Python for data transformation, validation, and automation.
• Develop dimensional data models supporting dashboards and self-service analysis.
