Job summary

Independence Pet Holdings seeks an experienced Analytics Engineer to join the Clarus analytics team. You will own the analytics engineering process, shape the data architecture, and deliver scalable data products using dbt, SQL, Python, and Databricks.

You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business partners to translate requirements into robust models, establish governance, and drive high-impact data initiatives across bronze, silver, and gold layers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, data engineering, analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong track record leading complex analytics/BI initiatives.
• 8+ years in data/analytics with ownership of production data models.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics engineering roadmap, standards, and practices.
• Design and evolve analytics architecture across bronze, silver, and gold layers.
• Build and optimize dbt models to transform data for analytics.
• Write advanced SQL and use Python for data transformation and automation.
• Develop dimensional data models to support dashboards and reporting.
• Establish and document KPI definitions, data contracts, and sources.
• Implement tests, lineage, and data quality monitoring.
• Promote best practices with Git, CI/CD, and environment management.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on ingestion and platform performance.
• Partner with analysts and BI to translate requirements into scalable models.
• Improve Databricks performance and cost efficiency.
• Lead data-quality investigations and governance efforts.
• Create clear technical documentation and enablement materials.
