Job summary

Clarus is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to own analytics pipelines and serve as the bridge between Data Engineering and Analytics delivery. You will build scalable analytics architectures and models using dbt, SQL, Python, and Databricks, ensuring reliable, analytics-ready data and trusted business metrics.

You will lead data-product initiatives, set technical direction, and collaborate with analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders across multiple projects in a remote U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data and analytics experience with ownership of production analytics data models.
• Advanced SQL skills with complex transformations.
• Deep dbt experience including scalable model architecture and deployment workflows.
• Strong Databricks experience (Delta Lake, Spark SQL, Unity Catalog).
• Strong Python for data processing, testing, and automation.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse design.
• Experience with modern engineering practices: Git, CI/CD, code review, automated testing.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical designs and communicate with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics engineering work, including roadmap, standards, and practices.
• Design and evolve analytics architecture across bronze, silver, and gold data layers.
• Build and optimize dbt models to deliver analytics-ready datasets.
• Write advanced SQL and use Python for data transformations and automation.
• Develop data models supporting dashboards, self-service analytics, and data products.
• Define KPI definitions, data contracts, and authoritative sources.
• Implement tests, data freshness checks, documentation, lineage, and monitoring.
• Establish Git-based development, CI/CD, and environment promotions.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on ingestion, schemas, and performance.
• Translate requirements from analysts and BI developers into scalable models.
