Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to work with enterprise customers on AI-first modernization, migrating legacy databases, and integrating AI-driven functionality into applications. The role is remote across the U.S. with potential relocation to MongoDB North America offices.

You will lead AI-powered feature development, apply software engineering best practices, and influence the AI strategy and product direction based on real-world use cases.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise solutions.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related engineering field.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, tools, and open-source frameworks.
• Experience designing AI-powered applications and refactoring for microservices.

Responsibilities

• Refactor applications and migrate legacy databases for enterprise clients.
• Prototype and build AI-powered features using LLMs to improve workflows.
• Apply modern software practices to accelerate AI adoption with microservices and automation.
• Influence MongoDB's AI roadmap from real-world implementations and customer needs.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver scalable solutions.
