Job summary

MongoDB Inc. seeks a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to work with enterprise customers on Generative AI projects, helping migrate legacy databases, modernize architectures, and embed AI capabilities into applications.

You will influenceMongoDB’s AI strategy and product direction while applying software engineering excellence. The role can be fully remote within the US, or based in MongoDB North America offices, collaborating across engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver scalable

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise contexts.
• Experience with Java, SQL, Python; strong AI/ML foundations.
• Designs and implements AI-powered applications and features.
• Familiarity with migration/refactoring of database architectures.
• Experience with test-driven development and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Refactor applications and migrate legacy databases for customers.
• Prototype and build AI-powered features using LLMs to improve workflows.
• Apply modern software practices to accelerate AI adoption in client systems.
• Influence MongoDB's AI roadmap from real-world deployments and customer needs.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver scalable solutions.
