Job summary

Selective Insurance in Seattle seeks an Agency Management Specialist to drive profitable agency growth and ensure agents are versed in Selective's initiatives, policies, and services. You will train AMS staff and collaborate with underwriting, claims, and corporate teams to support compliant, profitable partnerships.

Travel 40-50% is expected; strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills are essential to build robust agent relationships and drive performance across the territory.

Qualifications

• Results oriented with a track record of achieving business goals.
• Seasoned AMS with proven underwriting and agency management experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Independent, self-motivated and able to work from a remote location when needed.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internal systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop a profitable agency force familiar with Selective initiatives and services.
• Make underwriting decisions aligned with pricing philosophies and ease of doing business.
• Monitor agency results and follow up on growth, profitability and compliance.
• Build professional relationships with agents and internal teams; train staff.
• Maintain open two-way communication with agents and use CLAS, PLUS and eSelect.
• Perform inspections and document risk improvements with Loss Control.
• Stay informed on industry changes and competitive carrier strategies.
• Audit book of business and provide QA feedback to agents and underwriting.
