Job summary

Selective Insurance Company of America is seeking an experienced Agency Management Specialist (AMS) to partner with agents, underwriting teams and corporate departments across our footprint. You will assess agent performance, drive profitable growth, ensure effective use of Selective initiatives, and train agents and staff.

The role requires travel 40–50% and a remote-capable, self-motivated professional with strong communication, negotiation and Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• Must be results oriented with proven track record.
• This role is for a seasoned AMS with proven track record.
• Demonstrated superior communication, negotiation & presentation skills.
• Must be a high achiever with superior organizational skills who is self-motivated, pro-active, flexible, and able to work independently, from a remote location.
• Must be able to maximize technology to ensure high productivity ( Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and all internal business related software).
• Must have valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing and be able to drive an automobile.

Responsibilities

• Develop a profitable agency force familiar with Selective’s initiatives, products, policies and services.
• Make consistent underwriting decisions, adhere to company pricing philosophies and promote ease of doing business with Selective.
• Monitor agency results and follow up with agent on growth, profitability, share of wallet and compliance.
• Develop professional relationships with agent, regional underwriting and claim teams, and corporate departments; conduct underwriting, sales and training for agents and staff.
• Keeps two-way communication between agent and company open and viable; encourage agent usage of Selective systems including CLAS, PLUS and eSelect.
• Performs inspections as determined by Loss Control Guide and follows up on risk improvement and deficiencies.
