Job summary

Selective Insurance Company of America seeks a field-based Agency Manager to serve as a liaison between the company and agents, guiding regional underwriting and supporting profitable growth. You will assess agent performance and ensure familiarity with Selective’s initiatives and services while driving compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Must be results oriented with a proven track record in establishing, prioritizing and achieving business goals.
• Demonstrated superior communication, negotiation & presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, pro-active, flexible, and able to work independently, from a remote location.
• Must be able to maximize technology with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internal software.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be able to drive an automobile.

Responsibilities

• Develop an agency force that pre-qualifies accounts and uses CLAS/One & Done to write new profitable business.
• Makes consistent underwriting decisions and promotes ease of doing business with Selective.
• Monitors agency results and follows up on growth, profitability and compliance.
• Develop professional relationships with agents, underwriting and claims teams, and training staff.
• Maintains two-way communication between agent and company and encourages tool usage.
• Performs inspections and documents findings per Loss Control guidance.
• Stays alert for industry changes and carrier philosophy updates.
• Audits agency book of business and provides QA feedback to agencies.
• Meets CMS, Loss Control Rep, Bond Rep and Personal Lines Rep to discuss opportunities.
• Must be able to travel 40-50% within territory.
