Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to join the PERSEC Team. You will initiate clearance actions, conduct background investigations, and process security forms for government contracts across enterprise operations.

Working with CSOs/FSOs, you will handle SF86 processing, CACs, fingerprints, and coordination with OPM, ensuring accurate, timely adjudications while upholding DoD guidelines and data sensitivity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• NISPOM / 32 CFR Part 117 familiarity required.
• Experience processing SF86 forms (e-APP or fillable versions).
• Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and Adobe Pro.
• Strong interpersonal, independent work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage own workflow and priorities.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Discretion with sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Initiate security background investigations and processing for multiple clearance types.
• Coordinate with FSO/CSO and other security reps.
• Liaise with OPM for investigations.
• QC review of investigation packages for completeness.
• Assist employees and candidates with security paperwork.
• Process and submit SF4311 clearance actions.
• Submit CSR requests and reciprocity within DISS.
• Handle SCI and SAP packages processing.
• Process fingerprints via SWFT or vendor.
• Maintain clearances in DISS and NBIS.
• Create records in Gateway security database.
• Review Security Pre-Screen Forms.
• Familiar with adjudicative guidelines under DoD.
• Process outgoing visit requests and certifications.
• Other duties as assigned.
