Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to join the PERSEC Team. You will initiate clearance actions, conduct background investigations, and coordinate with FSO/CSO to support government clients in obtaining or maintaining clearances and access.

Responsibilities include processing SF86s, handling fingerprints, and maintaining records in the Gateway database, while ensuring compliance with NISPOM and DoD guidelines. Remote options exist for this day-shift role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NISPOM / 32 CFR Part 117.
• Experience processing SF86s (via e-APP and fillable versions).
• Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook and Adobe Pro.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; self-starter in a fast-paced team.
• Strong commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage individual workflow.
• Ability to interact verbally and in writing with diverse audiences.
• Ability to handle sensitive personal information discreetly.

Responsibilities

• Initiate security background investigations and processing for various clearance types using DISS/NBIS.
• Coordinate with FSO/CSO and other Security Representatives.
• Assist employees/candidates with security paperwork and forms.
• Process and submit SF4311, CSR requests, and reciprocity within DISS.
• Initiate and submit SCI and SAP packages as required.
• Track and maintain clearances in DISS/NBIS and Gateway.
