Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to support the PERSEC Team in processing government security clearances and related actions for candidates and employees.

You will initiate investigations, manage background checks and visits, coordinate with FSO/CSO, handle SF86 documentation, fingerprints and SCI/SAP packages, and maintain records in DISS/NBIS to ensure timely, accurate clearance processing.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
• Familiarity with DISS and NBIS
• High School Degree or GED and 2+ years of Personnel Security or Security experience

Responsibilities

• Initiate security background investigations and processing for different security clearance types/levels (T3, T3R; T5, T5Rs) utilizing DISS, NBIS, and using the Fillable SF86 version for certain Agencies
• Initiate processing actions for positions requiring Suitability requirements (NAC, BI, MBI, MRPTs, PPT; Process CACs, HSPD-12)
• Work closely with FSO's/CSO's and other Security Representatives
• Coordinate with OPM regarding personnel investigations for completion of clearance processing
• Conduct quality control review of investigation packages (SF86, 85, 85P, etc.) to ensure they are complete and accurate prior to submittal
• Assist employees/candidates with security paperwork
• Process and submit SF4311 for clearance actions
• Submit CSR's, request reciprocity within DISS
• Initiate, process and submit SCI and SAP Packages
• Process fingerprints through SWFT or third party vendor
• Track and Maintain clearances in DISS and NBIS
• Create and maintain records in Gateway
• Conduct clearance checks utilizing DISS
• Review Security Pre-Screen Forms
• Familiarity with PART 147 - Adjudicative Guidelines for Determining Eligibility for Access to Classified Information
• Process outgoing visit requests and certifications
• Other duties as assigned
