Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a remote, full-time role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The ideal candidate has strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python and a proven track record in both manual and automated testing.

Responsibilities include creating test plans, writing test scripts, leading verification efforts, and communicating results. A Public Trust (MBI) clearance and 10+ years of software testing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC.
• Proficiency in writing/executing test cases, scripts, and plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks/tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and version control systems.
• Understanding of performance testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure systems meet standards.
• Create test plans and schedules.
• Write test cases/scripts and identify test data.
• Lead tests and verify work products.
• Document and communicate test results and issues.
• Contribute to improvement of testing procedures and configurations.
• Create daily test metrics and reports.
• Support other IT engineering activities as needed.
