Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is hiring a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a 100% remote, U.S.-based role supporting Veterans Affairs. This full-time position requires advanced programming skills in C#, .NET, Java, or Python and a track record in complex software projects.

You will design and execute test plans, automate where possible, and perform multiple testing types in an Agile/SDLC environment. A Public Trust (MBI) clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of total work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• U.S. Citizenship required for this opportunity.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI).
• This is a 100% U.S. based remote position; some states are excluded (CA, CO, IL, MN, NJ, NY, OR, WA).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure information systems meet standards and end-user requirements.
• Develop test plans, test schedule, and approach.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
• Document and communicate test results and progress to management.
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of open issues.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Contribute to completion of programs and projects.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex problems.
