Job summary

Pearson is recruiting remote scorers to evaluate open-ended responses for New York teacher candidates. You will learn scoring standards, discuss with peers, and participate in consensus scoring to uphold standards.

Starting pay is $17.50 per hour, with remote work; eligible applicants must hold a teaching certificate in the relevant subject or have recent teaching experience in schools in the last three years. Applications are ongoing.

Qualifications

• Active teaching certification in the subject area you apply for and current or recent teaching experience in schools (public or private) within the last three years.
• Educators from colleges or universities who have taught or advised a content area within the last three years.
• Hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in discussions with other scorers.
• Engage in consensus scoring and discuss bias to reduce personal bias.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
• Start at a rate of $17.50 per hour.
• Work remotely.
