Job summary

Pearson is recruiting for an Associate, Scoring Services to score responses from New York teacher candidates. The role is remote, part-time, with a starting hourly rate and requires current teaching credentials or recent teaching experience.

Scorers will follow scoring standards, engage in consensus scoring, and participate in bias-awareness activities to ensure high-quality results in the scoring program.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in the subject area and active teaching or recent teaching within the last three years.
• Educator from colleges/universities with recent teaching or advising in relevant field.
• Degree in content area with professional employment in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring with other scorers.
• Recognize and discuss bias types and apply strategies to reduce personal bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test.
