Pearson invites qualified candidates to remotely score responses for New York teacher candidates from our Malta, NY office. No on-site relocation required; training precedes scoring, and sessions run weekdays with periodic 8-week intervals.

Active teaching credentials or recent teaching experience in appropriate content areas are required, with flexibility for retired educators. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and bias-awareness in scoring.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in the subject area and actively teaching or have taught in the last 3 years (including regular substitutes).
• Educators from colleges or universities who taught or advised a relevant field in the last 3 years may qualify.
• Hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within the last 3 years.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring discussions with other scorers.
• Recognize and discuss bias types and strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
