Pearson, the world’s learning company, invites applicants for Associate, Scoring Services to remotely score teacher candidate responses in multiple subject areas. You need current teaching certification or recent teaching/academic experience in the subject, plus basic computer skills and ability to work confidentially.

Roles are part-time with remote work. Training and scoring occur weekdays with a flexible rhythm.

Competenze

• A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for and are currently teaching or have taught in schools within the last three years (including regular substitute).
• OR educators from colleges or universities who have taught or advised a content relevant field within the last three years.
• OR hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within the last three years.
• Active or recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score.
• Basic computer skills, ability to sit for extended periods, maintain a confidential work environment, and eligibility to work in the United States.

Mansioni

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss bias types (e.g., implicit bias, cultural bias, leniency bias, central tendency bias, halo effect) and implement strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
