Job summary

Pearson is seeking remote scorers to evaluate teacher licensure responses. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher and teaching certification in the subject area or be college/university faculty preparing candidates, with eligibility to work in the United States.

The role is remote, with blocks of scoring five consecutive days every 8 weeks, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., totaling about 40 hours per cycle.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher.
• A current teaching certification in the subject area you are applying for AND be practicing or have two (2) or more years’ recent experience in the service role in a public school in the subject area you are applying for.
• OR serve as, or have recently served as, a college/university/program faculty member who prepares candidates for the subject you are applying for
• and MUST NOT be a current Georgia educator/based in the State of Georgia .
• Both active and recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Georgia teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias (e.g., implicit bias, cultural bias, leniency bias, central tendency bias, halo effect) and effect strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring
