Job summary

Pearson is seeking language scoring professionals to evaluate teacher licensing responses remotely. This role supports multilingual scoring and requires careful attention to scoring standards, bias awareness, and collaboration with peers.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher and teaching credentials in the target language, or relevant educator experience. Training is provided; scoring sessions occur weekdays with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher, and a current teaching certification in the language you are applying for.
• Or educators from colleges and universities who hold a degree in a content-relevant field and have taught or advised in a content-relevant field within the last three years.
• A native or fluent speaker of the language and holds a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Illinois and New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss various types of bias and discuss strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
