Job summary

Pearson is seeking qualified individuals to score teacher licensure responses from home, supporting the Malta, NY scoring office with flexible part-time hours. This remote role offers training and the opportunity to contribute to high-stakes assessments in a collaborative environment.

You will evaluate student responses, apply scoring standards, and participate in consensus scoring activities. A current subject credential or relevant teaching experience is required, with remote work options

Qualifications

• A current teaching certification in the subject area and have taught in schools within the last three years.
• Educators from colleges or universities who taught or advised a relevant field within the last three years.
• Degree in the content area with professional employment in the field within the last three years.
• Active or recently retired practitioners can be eligible to score.
• Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in consensus scoring activities.
• Recognize and discuss various biases and strategies to reduce personal bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements, including passing a qualifying test before scoring.
