Job summary

Pearson is seeking qualified educators to score teacher licensure responses remotely for the Malta, NY office. Candidates must hold current subject-area certification or have recent field experience, with the ability to work remotely and meet scoring standards.

Positions start at $17.50 per hour with training provided. Scoring sessions are weekdays with an intermittent schedule; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. This role is NOT bonus/benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current teaching certification in the subject area and have taught in schools within the last three years (including substitutes).
• Or be educators from colleges/universities who have taught or advised a content area within the last three years.
• Or hold a degree in the content area and have held professional employment in the content area within the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions for New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and participate in discussions with other scorers.
• Discuss bias types (implicit, cultural, leniency, central tendency, halo) and strategies to reduce bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
• Starting rate of $17.50 per hour and work remotely.
