Job summary

Pearson is seeking scorers for remote evaluation of teacher licensing tests at our Malta, NY office. You will evaluate responses, internalize scoring standards, and participate in consensus scoring with other scorers.

Applicants must have current subject-area teaching certification or equivalent recent teaching experience, and be eligible to work in the United States. Training is provided; sessions run weekdays with remote work opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current teaching certification in subject area and currently teaching or have taught in the last three years
• OR educators from colleges/universities who taught content-relevant field within last three years
• Or hold a degree in the content area and held professional employment in the content area within last three years

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates
• Internalize scoring standards and engage in consensus scoring
• Discuss biases (implicit, cultural, leniency, central tendency, halo) and reduce personal biases in scoring
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring
• Working remotely; sessions Mon–Fri, one day every 8 weeks
