Job summary

DCARA is seeking an Interpreting Services Specialist to coordinate day-to-day scheduling of interpreters across 14 counties and ensure accurate contract specifications. This 100% remote role requires high precision and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Core PST/PDT hours and California residency consideration apply. Responsibilities include handling high-volume communications, matching interpreters to assignments, and maintaining records in scheduling systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in scheduling, dispatching, interpreter services, or client service coordination.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate with Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing individuals using ASL or other methods.
• Cultural competence and knowledge of Deaf communities.
• Strong customer service, listening, and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule interpreters by matching certifications, skills, availability, and location proximity.
• Communicate assignment details and status updates to interpreters and clients.
• Maintain interpreter availability and accurate records in scheduling systems.
• Handle high-volume calls and emails with fast turnaround times.
• Assist with contract updates and end-of-day handoffs for after-hours coverage.
