Job summary

Terabase Energy is seeking an Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot SCADA and control systems for solar and hybrid plants. You will develop logic for custom applications, test, and implement solutions while ensuring security across networks.

Remote work flexibility and occasional travel are required to support global projects. Responsibilities include diagnosing RTUs/PLCs/HMI, editing System Architecture docs, and generating operator manuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or related field, preferably with controls major.
• 2+ years of IEC 61131-3/PLC programming experience, including structured text and function blocks.
• 2+ years of controls development using SEL RTAC is a plus.
• 2+ years of SCADA development, Ignition experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of programming language; Python a plus.
• Experience setting up virtual machines on physical servers.
• Working knowledge of industrial protocols: Modbus-TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC 61850, ICCP.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with customers; Developers, Owners, Utilities, O&M companies and ISOs.
• Troubleshoot, test, and restore RTUs, PLCs, and HMIs for power systems.
• Work with hardware: SEL-RTACs & ControlLogix; HMI Ignition; Historians including Ignition, MSSQL, InfluxDB, Canary Labs.
• Coordinate with field technicians for on-site troubleshooting and warranty support.
• Develop design docs: System Architecture, Device Points List, IP lists, Logic Diagrams, HMI mockups.
• Generate testing docs, as-built drawings, operator manuals and training materials.
• Analyze performance data and generate regular maintenance reports.
• Handle warranty claims and coordinate with vendors; maintain records.
