Job summary

Terabase Energy in Northern California seeks a Sr. Controls Engineer - OT SCADA Projects to lead design, configuration, commissioning, and support of plant control systems for utility-scale solar, storage, and hybrid projects.

You will work with minimal oversight, applying IEC 61131-3 knowledge and ISO standards, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to product standards. Approximately 80% of this role is project execution and 20% is process improvement, including FATs, documentation, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years IEC 61131-3/PLC programming; Codesys or AcSELerator experience.
• 3+ years utility-scale renewable plant controls (solar/BESS/hybrid) incl FAT/SAT.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end controls design for utility-scale solar, BESS, and hybrid projects.
• Program and commission SEL controllers; develop logic in Codesys.
• Document requirements, test in lab, and validate results.
• Maintain version control and troubleshoot SCADA/controls issues.
• Produce system diagrams, narratives, and operator manuals.
• Lead FATs and present to customers; travel up to 10%.
