Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a remotely based commissioning specialist to support pre-commissioning and commissioning of SCADA and communications systems for utility-scale solar projects. This role involves field travel to various job sites in the United States as needed.

You will interpret site commissioning plans, perform tests, document results, and collaborate with engineering, construction, and QA teams while upholding NFPA/NEC and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commissioning utility-scale solar power projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical Drawings/ Schematics
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site specific commissioning plans and adhere to schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams, including engineering, construction, and quality assurance, SCADA to ensure alignment on commissioning activities.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests, including performance testing, functional testing, and reliability testing of all communications systems.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the commissioning process to ensure optimal performance of SCADA and site communications systems.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports, documenting test results, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
• Continuously improve commissioning processes by incorporating feedback and lessons learned from completed projects.
• Assists site commissioning personnel in establishment of the Safety Tagging, Lockout & Work Permit Program and ensuring compliance with its provisions.
