Job summary

Smalley, a leader in precision metal formed products in the United States, seeks a technical sales professional to cover the Metro Houston, TX territory with travel to support training and meetings at the Lake Zurich, IL HQ. You will nurture leads, plan customer meetings, and grow the Houston base through proactive engagement.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and 3+ years of technical sales with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of technical sales experience with direct customer contact.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Must be located in the Houston, TX area.

Responsibilities

• Monitor customer sales activity and nurture new leads and opportunities.
• Plan, prepare and execute face-to-face and virtual meetings with customers in given U.S. territory area(s).
• Cultivate and develop assigned U.S. territory through frequent customer contact by nurturing sales funnel, leads and opportunities.
• Grow assigned U.S. territory by expanding targeted accounts, working with marketing on campaigns, hot leads, and attending tradeshows.
• Act as the primary contact and trusted advisor for customers in assigned U.S. territory.
• Work directly with internal teams on pricing, contracts, territory development etc.
• Travel to meet with customers in assigned territory as business needs require.
