Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid Level S/4HANA SAP ABAP Developer to support an SAP S/4HANA Greenfield implementation for a large government contract. This remote role is focused on a Washington, DC based customer and requires Public Trust clearance.

You will work across the full lifecycle, with emphasis on ABAP, S/4HANA, Fiori, BTP, and integration of SAP with non-SAP systems. Candidates should have 3–5 years of SAP ABAP experience for mid-level (6+ for senior), and U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance.
• 3–5 years SAP ABAP development for mid-level (6+ for senior).
• Experience with S/4HANA.
• Hands-on ABAP development and HANA CDS views.
• Experience integrating backend SAP with non-SAP applications.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to self‑learn UI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of the application lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Develop ABAP components, reports, RFCs, BAPIs, Enhancements, and data conversions as required.
• Integrate SAP with external systems using web services, proxies, and APIs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
