Rex.zone is hiring a ROS Developer to design, build, and deploy ROS/ROS2 software powering autonomous logistics robots. This remote-first role emphasizes shipping production-grade autonomy from simulation to real robots, collaborating in a remote-first environment.

You will implement navigation stacks, SLAM/localization workflows, sensor integration, and Gazebo/Ignition testing while maintaining observability and CI/CD practices. Strong ROS/ROS2 experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience with ROS/ROS2 in robotics software development.
  • Strong C++ and Python skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SLAM, localization, and navigation concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Build ROS2 packages, nodes, launch files, and diagnostics for robot bring-up and autonomy.
  • Implement and tune navigation stack components for warehouse environments.
  • Develop SLAM/localization workflows using LiDAR/vision and manage maps.
  • Integrate sensors and drivers; ensure accurate TF frames, timestamps, and calibration.
  • Create and validate simulation scenarios in Gazebo/Ignition with repeatable test runs.
  • Improve observability using logs, metrics, and rosbag workflows to debug field issues.
  • Follow best practices: code review, versioning, CI/CD, and structured releases.
