Job summary

MRO Corporation is seeking a Remote ROI Specialist to provide remote support to healthcare clients by processing Release of Information requests for patient records. This fully remote role operates in Pacific Time during standard business hours.

You will review requestor information, access EHR systems, respond to inquiries via phone, email, or secure messages, and securely transmit data to authorized parties. Strong attention to detail and HIPAA knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in ROI in a physician's office or HIM is a plus.
• Proficiency with computer applications and web-based systems; 1+ year data entry.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong time management.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and securely accessing pertinent patient data from client electronic health record (EHR) systems and other approved electronic sources that match the patient request.
• Responds to phone calls, emails, and secure messages from requesters concerning various ROI issues.
• If necessary, responds to and processes requests from physician offices on a priority basis and transmits the requested information securely (for example, secure electronic delivery or eFax).
• Logs medical record requests into Exchange Manager.
• Uploads and indexes electronic medical records into Exchange Manager.
• Complies with MRO and client facility policies and regulations, including HIPAA privacy and security requirements and MRO remote work and information security policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
