Job summary

MRO Corporation is seeking a Remote ROI Specialist to support healthcare clients by processing Release of Information requests for medical records. This is a fully remote position working from a private, secure home office.

You will review requests in compliance with HIPAA, access EHR data, respond to inquiries by phone, email, or secure messages, and log and index records using Exchange Manager. Applicants should have a high school diploma; data entry experience; ability to work independently

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Prior Release of Information in a physician’s office or HIM department is a plus.
• Proficient with computer applications and web-based systems; 1+ years data entry experience; internet usage required.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, managing time and meeting production goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; respond to inquiries by phone, email, and virtual platforms.
• Attention to detail; dependable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines records to be released by reviewing requestor information per HIPAA guidelines and securely accessing pertinent patient data from client EHR systems and other approved sources.
• Responds to phone calls, emails, and secure messages from requesters concerning ROI issues.
• Processes priority requests from physician offices and transmits information securely (e.g., secure electronic delivery or eFax).
• Logs medical record requests into Exchange Manager.
• Uploads and indexes electronic medical records into Exchange Manager.
• Complies with MRO and client facility policies, HIPAA privacy and security requirements, and remote-work information security policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
