Job summary

MRO is seeking a Remote ROI Specialist to support healthcare clients by processing Release of Information requests from a fully remote, part-time location. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, secure data handling, and timely responses to requesters via phone, email, and secure messaging.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, data-entry experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently from a home office. Prior ROI or HIM experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Prior ROI experience in a physician’s office or HIM department is a plus.
• Proficiency with computer applications and web-based systems; data entry experience.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time to meet production goals.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process Release of Information (ROI) requests for patient records in a remote environment.
• Determine records to be released by reviewing requester information per HIPAA guidelines.
• Respond to phone calls, emails, and secure messages related to ROI issues.
• Transmit requested information securely (e.g., secure eDelivery or eFax) when needed.
• Log ROI requests into Exchange Manager and upload/index records.
• Comply with MRO privacy, security policies, and remote-work requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
