SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Project Restoration Engineer to contribute to ecological restoration projects across the Great Lakes and the U.S. The role emphasizes hydraulics, hydrology, geomorphology, and AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling.

Travel for field assessments and client meetings is expected. The position is full-time with benefits, reporting to the Lombard, IL office, and offers hybrid or distributed (remote) work arrangements.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Coastal) and active PE license.
• 4 years of ecosystem restoration design experience; 7+ preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically for field data collection and client meetings.
• Experience with HEC‑RAS or similar hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software.
• Experience developing restoration construction plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee project management tasks including schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Develop stream/wetland restoration and living shoreline designs; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct field investigations and analyses to support restoration designs.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and contract documents for project implementation.
• Coordinate permitting with agencies and ensure timely approvals.
• Perform modeling to optimize designs and assess environmental impacts.
• Lead multidisciplinary collaboration and mentor junior staff.
